THE ROB VINE FUND TO PURCHASE NEW EQUIPMENT THANKS TO LOTTERY FUNDING

The Rob Vine Fund, Registered Charity no 954 (Isle of Man) has been awarded a grant of £19,674 to purchase a new piece of life saving equipment.

By purchasing a Corpuls 3 patient monitor/defibrillator, the charity will be able to bring all three of its Phil Hogg Rescue ambulances up to date with the same equipment, to ensure the best care is delivered to those who may need assistance.

The Rob Vine Fund is a local Motorsport charity which provides medical/rescue equipment and training for doctors, paramedics and others involved in motorsport events held on the Island.

The Corpuls 3 is a state-of-the-art monitor and defibrillator which has a number of useful features such as being lightweight with wireless connectivity, a backlit and transflective screen, weather durable and long lasting batteries. As well as the ambulances and other medical equipment purchased by the charity, this new item will be available for the Isle of Man Ambulance Service to deliver life-saving resuscitation to a patient, should they need it.

Stuart Greaves, a Director of the Rob Vine Fund, said: ‘We’re extremely grateful for the generous funding awarded to us by the Manx Lottery Trust. We rely on donations for the provision of equipment and training, and also the wonderful unpaid volunteer crews from the Hogg Motorsport Association, without which our much-loved motorsport events would not continue!’

Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: ‘The Rob Vine Fund offer such valuable support to the community, which is why the Trust are pleased to assist with the purchasing of vital equipment.’

This grant is from Manx Lottery Trust’s Community Awards Programme. Manx Lottery Trust has been delegated to distribute National Lottery money from The National Lottery Community Fund. To find out more, visit: www.mlt.org.im
