NEW MOBILE BANKING APP FOR MANX CREDIT UNION

A grant from Manx Lottery Trust will significantly enhance the service and user experience for members of the Manx Credit Union (MCU).

The organisation has been awarded more than £9,000 for a new mobile banking app which will allow members to check their savings and loan balances, request transactions, e-sign documents and more, as well as allow MCU to fully integrate online forms with its software system.

The mobile application system was created especially for credit unions and is used by a number of them across the UK. It will be particularly beneficial for the MCU due to its limited office opening hours, its goal to reach a younger and wider audience and to become more easily accessible to its members, wherever they are on the Island.

David Talbot of the Manx Credit Union said: ‘This app will allow us to take our service to the next level, providing efficiency, convenience and better access for our members. Our clients frequently ask if we have mobile banking and, among certain age groups and demographics, it is now the preferred method of engaging with financial institutions.

‘It is important we make ourselves as accessible to our members as possible and this app will be invaluable in helping us achieve this and bringing MCU into the digital age. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Manx Lottery Trust for its generous funding and allowing us to make this enhancement.’

Sarah Kelly, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, said: ‘In this digital day and age, people demand convenience and easy accessibility when it comes to banking. We are pleased to support MCU in making this important step and wish them luck in this new venture.’

This grant is from Manx Lottery Trust’s Community Awards Programme. Manx Lottery Trust has been delegated to distribute National Lottery money that has come from The National Lottery Community Fund. To find out more, head to: www.mlt.org.im/
