MANX LOTTERY TRUST GRANTS TO DOUGLAS DOG TRAINING CLUB FOR ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT

The Douglas Dog Training Club (DDTC) has been awarded a grant of £2,500 from the Manx Lottery Trust. This crucial funding will support the club in securing and transporting essential equipment across various training venues, enhancing their ability to offer top-notch training experiences for local dogs and their owners.

The grant will be used to purchase a trailer for transporting and storing equipment at the winter training venue, a secure container for equipment at the summer site, and a mini transporter to move heavy items such as sandbags. These sandbags are vital for stabilising tunnels during agility training, ensuring safety and reliability as dogs navigate the courses.

Gill Young, a representative from Douglas Dog Training Club, said: “We are immensely thankful to the Manx Lottery Trust for this grant. This funding will make a significant difference in how we manage our equipment and maintain safety during training sessions. It will also help us to continue providing a high standard of training for our local community and their canine companions.”

Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: “We are delighted to support the Douglas Dog Training Club with this grant. Their dedication to enhancing the skills and safety of both dogs and handlers is commendable. The Smaller Grants programme is designed to empower local groups and projects, and we’re pleased to contribute to such a worthwhile cause.”

The Smaller Grants programme from Manx Lottery Trust offers straightforward, accessible funding for local communities, with grants ranging from £300 to £2,500. This initiative is part of the Trust’s commitment to supporting local groups and enhancing community life across the Isle of Man.
