MANX LOTTERY TRUST ANNOUNCES ‘TOGETHER FOR BETTER’ AS THE THEME FOR 2022 COMMUNITY AWARDS THEMATIC FUNDING

‘Together for Better’ has been announced as the theme for Manx Lottery Trust’s 2022 Community Awards Thematic Funding.

The Trustees of the Manx Lottery Trust are inviting applications for projects from local charities and organisations which demonstrate collaboration and sustainability.

The Trustees are encouraging local organisations to get together and develop sustainable community-led projects for the benefit of our island community. Projects can be small-scale and cover areas including collaboration with potential partners, sharing expertise and resources to make a long-term positive impact, whilst bearing in mind sustainable principles. Grants will be available from between £2,501 and £150,000 (maximum £50k per annum for three years).

This year’s theme is aligned with the Isle of Man Government’s ‘Island Plan’, which focuses on building a secure, vibrant, and sustainable future for the Island. The Trustees have also worked closely with KPMG to determine the theme; the organisation that has been commissioned by the Government to produce a five-to-ten year economic strategy for the Island called the ‘Our Big Picture’ project, and The National Lottery Community Fund.

To be considered for a Thematic Funding Award, applications must be submitted by Friday 29th July 2022. More information on criteria and process can be found on the Manx Lottery Trust website.

Sarah Kelly, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, said: ‘Now, more than ever, we all have a unique opportunity to ensure sustainability remains at the forefront of our collective consciousness. It’s not just for this year’s thematic funding, it is something we all must embrace in all areas of our lives. The Trustees recognise that we can become a far more sustainable nation by working together as a community to do so.

‘Building strong relationships across communities in the Island, is paramount to this year’s theme, and we hope that funding will facilitate collaboration between community organisations, while encouraging more people to get involved.

‘We look forward to receiving applications from a wide range of organisations from across the community.’

Manx Lottery Trust has been delegated to distribute National Lottery money that has come from The National Lottery Community Fund. Community Award application forms, together with guidance notes, are available on the Manx Lottery Trust website: www.mlt.org.im.
