HOUSING MATTERS HELPING PEOPLE KEEP WARM THIS WINTER

Manx Lottery Trust is supporting local housing charity, Housing Matters, with funding for it to offer its service users with items to help manage the winter weather.

The Trust awarded the charity with a grant of £1,280 from the Community Warm Spaces Fund which will go towards the purchasing of warm items and equipment which will be provided to any vulnerable persons struggling to keep warm.

Housing Matters have been able to purchase items such as heated throws and thermal socks that are low cost to run and will help keep people warm.

Karl Brew, Manager of Housing Matters, said: ‘The cost-of-living crisis has already had such a huge impact on the most vulnerable members of our community, and we hope these items will be small gestures in helping the community stay warm this winter.’

Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: ‘The Trust are pleased to support Housing Matters with the funding for these warm items, which in light of the current crisis, are needed now more than ever.’
