THEMATIC FUNDING APPLICATION PROCESS

THEMATIC FUNDING

‘Empowering Young People’ has been announced as the theme for Manx Lottery Trust’s 2022 Community Awards Thematic Funding.

The Trustees are encouraging local organisations to apply for funding for projects which aim to support young people under the age of 25 in overcoming certain challenges.

Grants will be available from between £2,501 and £150,000 (maximum £50k per annum for three years).

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

You can apply for funding to deliver new or existing activity or to change and adapt to new and future challenges, including the current cost of living crisis.

Your project should meet one or more of these aims:

- More young people have the skills they need for the future. Such as practical skills for jobs they’d like to do, or life skills to help deal with difficult situations.

- Young people have better relationships with their support networks and communities. Support networks are people. These can be family and friends, or different groups that help people like doctors, the police, youth groups, charities, and teachers.Communities can be people living in the same area, or people who have similar interests or life experiences, but might not live in the same area.

- Young people have improved health and wellbeing. Look at how your project might help young people both physically and mentally.

We encourage applicants to consider their environmental impact when designing their project by choosing to use more sustainable, environmentally friendly, or recycled materials as much as possible.

WHO CAN APPLY?

You can apply if you are a community group, not for profit group, parish or town council, school or social enterprise.

You do not need to be a registered charity to apply.

You must have a bank account on the Isle of Man that requires at least two people, who are unrelated and do not live at the same address, to sign each cheque or withdrawal.

WHAT YOU CAN APPLY FOR?

We will pay for activities that will benefit young people under the age of 25, including:

- Staff salaries

- Training

- Equipment

- Premises costs

- Evaluation

- Volunteer expenses
