New Improvements at Braddan Bridge House

Manx Lottery Trust has confirmed a grant of £2,857 to the Joey Dunlop Foundation to improve accessibility and comfort for guests staying at Braddan Bridge House.

Braddan Bridge House provides five fully accessible self-contained apartments which are available for short-term holidays or respite breaks for disabled people, together with their families, friends and carers. The facility includes a range of specialist equipment to support guests, including hoists, profiling beds, air mattresses and shower commodes.

The funding has been used to replace a number of old and damaged window blinds throughout the apartments. It will also enable the installation of motorised blinds in several hard-to-reach locations, allowing guests to operate them remotely and independently.

Many visitors to Braddan Bridge House are wheelchair users or have limited mobility, which can make it difficult or impossible to reach and adjust window coverings without assistance. The improvements will help enhance both accessibility and privacy for guests during their stay.

These improvements will make a real difference to many of our guests, helping them to operate the blinds independently and enjoy a more comfortable stay.
