Manx Lottery Trust Supports Neurodiversity Learning Event
Manx Lottery Trust has confirmed a grant to Isle Listen to support the delivery of a one-day neurodiversity event aimed at increasing understanding and promoting more inclusive environments across the Island.
The event will bring together experts, educators, and practitioners for an in-depth exploration of current issues in neurodiversity. The programme will challenge misconceptions, highlight emerging opportunities, and equip attendees with practical strategies to better support neurodivergent individuals in education, workplaces, and the community.
The morning session will feature a keynote lecture examining the evolution of neurodiversity, moving from a clinical perspective to a strengths-based model that recognises cognitive variation as a natural part of human diversity. In the afternoon, an interactive training session will translate theory into practice, using activities, role-play, and scenario analysis to demonstrate real-life barriers faced by neurodivergent people and how these can be addressed.
A £1,650 grant from Manx Lottery Trust’s Smaller Grants programme will support the delivery of the event.
Adam Clayton from Isle Listen said: “This event will help deepen understanding and confidence around neurodiversity at a crucial time. The support from Manx Lottery Trust enables us to offer high-quality learning that can make a real difference in how organisations and individuals create more inclusive environments.”
Sarah Kelly, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, said: “The Trustees recognise the importance of education in building inclusive, supportive communities. This event will offer valuable insight and practical guidance, and we are pleased to support Isle Listen in delivering it.”
The Smaller Grants programme supports local groups and charities undertaking projects that improve community wellbeing and participation across the Isle of Man.
