Manx Lottery Trust Supports Bride Parish Commissioners with Grant for Playground Upgrade

Bride Parish Commissioners have received a funding boost from Manx Lottery Trust to help enhance and maintain the much-loved community playground in the heart of the village.

The grant of £18,021 will be used to upgrade the facility and install new play equipment, ensuring it remains a safe and fun space for local families to enjoy.

The playground, which features a popular Viking ship structure, has served the community for over 15 years. With the equipment beginning to show signs of age and becoming increasingly difficult to maintain, the funding will enable the Commissioners to refresh and future-proof the park for the benefit of children and families for years to come.

Lisa Simms from Bride Parish Commissioners said: “We are incredibly grateful to Manx Lottery Trust for their generous grant. The playground is a vital part of our village and a place where children and families come together. Thanks to this funding, we can maintain the value of the park and invest in new equipment that will be enjoyed by the community for many more years.”

Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery Trust, added: “We’re pleased to support Bride Parish Commissioners as they enhance this much-loved village playground. Community spaces like this are so important for social connection and wellbeing, and it’s fantastic to see the Commissioners investing in the future of their local area. We wish them every success as the project gets underway.”

The Manx Lottery Trust’s Community Awards Programme provides funding for projects that create positive and lasting impact within communities across the Isle of Man.
