MANX LOTTERY TRUST COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND EXTENDED

Manx Lottery Trust has secured funding of £6 million from The National Lottery Community Fund for its Community Awards programme.

The new agreement between The National Lottery Community Fund and the Manx Lottery Trust is for a ten-year period to March 2031, with a total of £600,000 to be granted per year. Launched in 2015, the Community Awards programme aims to improve local communities and the lives of people most in need by distributing grants between £2,501 and £50,000.

To date, Manx Lottery Trust Community Awards have funded 153 projects, reaching communities across the Isle of Man. In order to secure funding from the scheme, applicants need to demonstrate that their project will achieve at least one of the following outcomes.

- Bringing people together and building strong relationships across communities

- Improving the places and spaces that matter to communities

- Helping more people reach their potential by supporting them at the earliest possible stage

Sarah Kelly, Chairman of the Manx Lottery Trust, said: ‘We are delighted to secure funding for the next 10 years and this certainty will allow the Trust to build on the successful delivery of the Community Awards Programme. We are proud to be able to award money raised by National Lottery players so that good things happen across the Island.’
