CASTLETOWN COMMISSIONERS OFFER USE OF TOWN HALL TO ISLAND ORGANISATIONS

Castletown Commissioners were awarded funding which enabled it to open the Town Hall, for other organisations to utilise at no charge.

The grant of £2,500 from the Community Warm Spaces Fund, went towards supporting other charitable bodies to use the Community Hall and provide a warm space initiative during the recent winter period.

This meant that any organisations hosting a warm space session were able to use the space and any heating, free of charge.

Hugo Mackenzie, Clerk of Castletown Commissioners, said: ‘Instead of hosting our own warm space, we wanted to be able to support other organisations who might have been restricting any events due to the cost of living crisis.

‘We’d like to say a big thank you to the Manx Lottery Trust, for allowing us to help those who need it most.’

Stephen Turner, Chairman of Manx Lottery trust, said: ‘This was a wonderful initiative from Castletown Commissioners, which we were very happy to fund via the Community Warm Spaces Fund.’

This grant is from the Manx Lottery Trust’s Community Warm Spaces Fund, which is funded by the Isle of Man Government. This grant programme ended on 31st March 2023, to see our other programmes, head to: www.mlt.org.im/grant-programmes/
