A grant of 25,147 has been awarded towards  a new ‘Changing Place’ and ‘Quiet Room’ in the Manx Museum, Douglas.

The Changing Place will provide a safe and fully equipped toilet facility for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as other disabilities that severely limit mobility, who have difficulty using standard accessible toilets.

The Quiet Room will offer a space for quiet contemplation for any visitors who may experience heightened sensory anxiety.

It is estimated that more than 300 Isle of Man residents and up to 1000 Island visitors could directly benefit from such a facility, together with their carers.
