MANX LOTTERY TRUST ANNOUNCES ‘ENVIRONMENT’ AS THE THEME FOR ITS 2017/18 COMMUNITY AWARDS THEMATIC FUNDING

The Trustees of the Manx Lottery Trust, as delegated partner of Big Lottery Fund, are inviting applications from charities and organisations for Thematic Funding, for environment projects which benefit the Island community.

Funding is available for up to 36 months, from January 2018, for projects to:

- Create a better environment

- Improve the well-being of people in the Island community through practical environmental action resulting in improved local spaces, habitats for wildlife and support for the Island economy

- Gain understanding of what works to help demonstrate the links between nature and economic and social factors

The Trust has a total of £150,000 on offer, with grants available ranging from between £2,501 and £150,000 (maximum £50,000 in any one year).

The Trustees want organisations to come forward with projects which enable them to work in partnership to develop locally owned solutions.

Applications should include project need, aims, activities, outcomes and evaluation.

For details of the required outcomes for projects please visit Manx Lottery Trust’s website (below) and refer to the guidance section for Community Awards.

Lulu Gillow, Chair of the Manx Lottery Trust, said; ‘Our understanding of environment isn’t just about protecting natural habitats. We also recognise the important links between nature and economic and social factors.

‘The Trustees wish to increase the funding available for environment projects in the hope this brings about better local environmental, economic and social conditions for the Island community and future generations. It will be useful to learn about what has contributed to progress, particularly previous research.’

The Trustees kindly request that completed applications for their consideration are received no later than Friday, 5th January 2018.
