DOUGLAS BAY YACHT CLUB

A grant of £25,250 has been confirmed to Manx National Youth Band towards the cost of re-roofing and repairs to the Band Headquarters in Douglas.

Over 43 years more than two thousand young Manx people have been trained to play an instrument. Playing in a band generates self discipline and the team ethic. Many of the musicians have remained with the organisation as playing members of Manx Concert Brass. The current membership of ninety playing members includes sixty under 18 years old, and ten who began tuition in the last year.
